Interactive Tool
FinLog
The citizen science app powering Wakatobi's reef observation network. Every dive, every sighting, contributes to the living record of reef health.
Why It Matters
Crowdsourced Conservation
Professional monitoring programmes, however sophisticated, are bounded. Hydrophones and AI-classified photo transects capture a slice of the reef. But divers visiting Wakatobi see things the sensors don't — a rare species, a behavioural moment, an unexpected sighting.
FinLog turns every dive into a data point. Observations are geo-tagged to reef cells, species are identified (with help from our ID library), and the community record becomes a layer on top of the scientific monitoring.
For the marine biology team, it's intelligence. For divers, it's engagement. For partners, it's richer data — and a human story behind the science.
Companion App
Meet Reef Hive
FinLog captures the individual observations. Reef Hive maps them — visualising the full monitoring network in 3D across Wakatobi's protected reef system.
